Runners have so much to gain by strength training. The research has strongly demonstrated that there are profound benefits to runners who train with resistance exercise. Here are some of the benefits that have been observed regularly in the research:

Improved running economy/efficiency

Reduced or delayed fatigue

Improved anaerobic capacity

Reduced risk for injury

Improved maximal speed

lifting needs to be specifically tailored for runners

These classes are designed to walk runners through weight-training sessions, regardless of lifting experience. Runners will learn how to lift heavy, safely, and effectively.

Classes will vary and the same exercises won’t be taught at each every class. After a few classes, runners will learn many of the best lifts and exercises to improve their running performance and resilience to running injuries.

Classes will be instructed by Dr. AJ Cohen and Justin Kerley (class cap at 16 attendees).


Each class will be on a Wednesday evening, starting promptly at 6:30pm and ending no later than 7:30pm.
